Much ado about nothing

I've been keeping up with the blogs of my scrapbook idols and find that they post a lot more than I do. Can't very well copy them if I never post. They have all changed their banners, too. I don't really feel the need to that yet since I just posted it.

I haven't been in my scrapbook room for almost a week. Scratch that. I did venture in there to make a new baby gift card and wrap the present. Okay, here is a little secret. Lisa Bearnson and Becky Higgins put together a card making kit and sold it on QVC. It makes 50 cards and comes with everything you need including its own organizing box. You just follow the directions and you have a beautiful handmade card in about three minutes. Lisa and Becky designed the cards, so they look great. The receipient thinks you are oh so talented and thoughtful. You have used someone else's talent and it took no thought what so ever. Tricky but effective. I'll try to post next time they are going to sell it again on QVC.

Going to the FSU vs Syracuse game this weekend with Gary and Cole. My two littlest boys are staying with Granddaddy. Read it again. I said, my two littlest boys are staying with Granddaddy. They will love it. I'm not so sure if Granddaddy knows what he is getting into. But, if love will get you through anything, then they all will be fine.

We're meeting friends at the stadium for a tailgate party. This will be the best part. Beer. I'm also bringing chocolate chips cookies, peanut butter cookies, pigs in a blanket, chips 'n dip and Sweet Heat snack mix.

So What's With This Blog

I am thinking that I should be posting to this blog regularly.  But, I am not sure.  Should I use it only to share my composed insights and insprirations?  Or, should I post every day or two whether I have something interesting to say or not?  What is the purpose of this blog anyway?

1.  I thought that it would help me with my scrapbook journaling.  I can just copy entire blogs into journaling boxes.

2.  Sometime something really cool comes to mind that I would like to float out there.  Maybe someone else will think it is good, too.

3.  Once it gets going, I will have a digital scrapbook of my own life to refer to.

4.  One day I can say, "Check out my blog".

5.  I wanted to copy my favorite scrapbook artists (see favorite artists).

So I guess I have decided.  I will post every couple of days and see how it goes.  After all, there is no right or wrong.  It is my blog.

I am a Seminole fan (since 1978)

I had moved to this strange state not fully understanding what it meant to leave my home, school and friends. This hot place where it could rain in the front yard while the sun shines in the backyard. A place with spiders the size of my nine year old fist and grasshoppers the size of my bare foot. I moved to a new horror of sharing my bedroom with my older sister. I was learning to walk quietly so as not to bother the old lady who lived downstairs.

“You’ll like her.” They said about Stephanie. “She’s your age.”

But I hadn’t met her yet. In a place where everyone comes to vacation, she had, indeed, left on vacation for somewhere else.

She floated into my world a couple of weeks later. I say floated because she was impossibly thin. Her hair was bleached white by sun and chlorine. Her blue eyes were light and a forest green swimsuit hung on her body. I immediately felt twice her size. She was ethereal. I was brutish.

“Are you a Seminole or a Gator?” she asked.

I didn’t understand these terms. Not wanting to show my confusion, I narrowed my eyes and raised my chin.

“What are you?” I asked.

“I’m a Seminole.” She said proudly.

“So am I” I said. “I’m a Seminole.” I didn’t have the slightest idea what she meant.
