Arrived home a couple of hours ago from our long drive from the Keys. Catching up on e-mail - not as much as I thought. Expecting huge amounts of complaints regarding health insurance change, but surprisingly not very many. Either people are happy and understand the change, or they are directing their anger toward Velma because they know they probably won't get a response from me!
Catching up on my "friends" blogs. Kind of blurring the line between fantasy and reality there. Anyway, was struck by the coolness (should really think of a better word, but very tired) of the 4th of July. Everyone in the United States having their own sort of celebration.
Ali Edwards posted peaceful pictures of the pacific northwest parties. Cathy Z talked about celebrating with her neighbors in the city of Minneapolis. Karen Russell posted pictures of a chilly shoreline in Washington State.
Where were we? Just the family, Sergio and Anthony at Zachary Taylor State Park in Key West, Florida. Taking in the fireworks from far away. Having the beach to ourselves because the park was closed, but Park Ranger Sergio let us in. Lighting sparklers in the windy sea breeze. Playing with my tripod and long night exposures. Feeling SO lucky and blessed. Coolness.
