I have made a lot of purchases recently - lots of new things to play with and crowd my studio.
Claudine Hellmuth, I blame this on you.
You showed this kit from SiSTV on a recent blog post, and I just HAD to have it. Have no idea what I am going to do with it.
This one, I totally blame on Stephanie McAtee.
She had to know that after taking her art journal class that I would no longer be satisfied with working with ordinary pens. No. Now I must have nibs of all different sizes and India Ink.
Donna Downey made me buy lots of canvases in every size. That and they were on sale for 50% off at Joann's. That, of course, means I can buy twice as much.
Tena Sprenger, you're not getting off the hook here. I actually donated alcohol inks that I had because I never used them. Now, because of your acrylic album class, I have to buy them all over again. I am just showing the brushes because Joann's had them on sale for 20 for $1.00 and the cashier got all annoyed that she had to scan every one of them separately for .05 each. I was like, "can't you just put in 20 @ .05?" and she was all "hmmmph... No. I have to scan them individually." But, I bet she could have done it, she just didn't know how.
Finally there is this because of Kal:
Seriously. Oil pastels.
But while I am placing blame and must also give serious thanks to these women. Because of them, I made two pieces of art. Donna provided Inspired and Kal inspired me to just do it. Just draw something. It doesn't have to be award winning. It doesn't have to be a museum worthy. Just sit down (or stand up) for a few minutes and do something. You will love yourself for it. And you what, they were so right.
