This is my lake. Sure other people have lived on this lake for many years. But make no mistake - this is my lake.
Did you ever visit a place and get a peaceful feeling, a feeling that says, "This is where I belong." That is the feeling I got the very first time I saw this lake 13 years ago. It is the same feeling I get when I go to St. Teresa Beach or London or on a boat. I even get it a little when I go to New York City.
I have always had a connection to water. Growing up I loved to swim and competed on swim teams. I love scuba diving, boats, salt water beaches and aquatic creatures of all kinds (okay I can do without alligators, water snakes and jellyfish, but we can't love everything!). I can't imagine living far from a coast. I have often wondered if my ease in or near water perhaps has to do with a past life or DNA from my ancestors.
For a long time time, living on this lake (or any lake) was a dream that was out of our price range. Then many events came together at the right time. We were very blessed and very lucky and my dream came true.
We closed on our house on the lake on Monday. Although, I dread the nightmare of moving, I can't wait to be near my lake.
My studio will face my lake. I can't wait to photograph it, paint it, write about it and get to know it. I want to do yoga on my dock and meditate on its shores.

Yes, I know I missed FPF last week. My apologies. That was one crazy day.
This is how I feel about Italy. I can't wait to visit you at your new house with your lake! :) Miss you!
